Unlisted Securities Market Closes Final Session in June Flat

The final trading session at the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange closed in the flat territory on Thursday, (June 30), with the key performance indicators remaining unchanged.

Business Post reports that the market capitalisation of the NASD Exchange retained the previous value of N1.004 trillion, while the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) remained unchanged at 763.24 basis points.

The stalemate witnessed at the session came as there was no price advancer or decliner at the close of business in the unlisted securities market.

However, there were movements in the activity chart as investors traded a total of 5,794 units of securities during the trading day in contrast to the 72,550 units of securities transacted in the preceding session, indicating a drop of 92.0 per cent.

Likewise, the value of shares exchanged by the market participants dropped by 89.1 per cent to N1.1 million from the N10.1 million recorded in the previous session.

Also, the total number of deals closed downward as seven transactions were executed, 65 per cent lower than the 20 deals quoted a day earlier.

When the market closed for the session, AG Mortgage Plc maintained its spot as the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with a turnover of 2.3 billion units valued at N1.2 billion. Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc stood in second place with a turnover of 674.4 million units worth N14.1 billion, while Food Concepts Plc was in third place with a turnover of 146.5 million units valued at N127.2 million.

In terms of the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis, CSCS Plc was on top with the sale of 674.4 million units valued at N14.1 billion, VFD Group Plc was in second place with a turnover of 10.9 million units worth N3.2 billion and for trading 9.7 million units valued at N1.3 billion, FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc occupied third place.
