The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a 0.33 per cent appreciation on Thursday, February 22.
This increased the wealth of investors by N5.16 billion during the session, with the market capitalisation growing to N1.576 trillion from the previous day’s N1.571 trillion.
Following the same trend was the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI), which went up by 3.8 points to wrap the session at 1,162.77 points compared with 1,158.97 points recorded at the previous session.
There were two gainers against one loser at the session on Thursday led by bellwethers – Aradel Holdings Plc and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc.
Aradel Holdings Plc rose by N23.19 to settle at N2,499.69 per share compared with the preceding day’s N2,476.50 per share, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria gained 7 Kobo to close at N74.50 per unit versus Wedneday’s closing price of N74.43 per unit.
However, the share price of Acorn Petroleum Plc went down by 1 Kobo to close at N1.19 per unit, in contrast to the preceding day’s N1.20 per unit.
The volume of securities traded at the session by investors significantly depreciated by 91.6 per cent during the trading day to 298,921 units from the 3.6 million units recorded in the midweek session.
However, the value of the shares bought and sold by the market participants increased by 776.1 per cent to N623.7 million from the N71.2 million achieved on Wednesday.
These trades were carried out in 29 deals, 3.3 per cent lower than the 30 deals executed in the previous trading session.
Mixta Real Estate Plc closed as the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 69.9 million units valued at N114.5 million, IPWA Plc was in second place with 48.9 million units worth N24.4 million, and Geo-Fluids Plc stood in third place with 45.4 million units valued at N111.9 million.
Aradel Holdings Plc finished as the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) with 1.5 million units sold for N3.2 billion, followed by FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 3.4 million units worth N261.6 million, and Mixta Real Estate Plc with 69.9 million units valued at N114.5 million.
