Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr Godsday Orubebe, has been found guilty of false declaration of asset by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
Consequently, his undeclared property in Abuja known as plot 2057 has been confiscated by the Federal Government.
In his ruling, Chairman of the CCB, Justice Danladi Umar, held that “the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt, and all evidences tendered are admitted.”
“I hereby seize, on behalf of the federal government, the property known as plot 2057,” Justice Umar ruled.
The Nigerian government had accused Mr Orubebe of not declaring the seized asset when he was a public officer.
But the former Minister claimed he did not declare the said asset because he had sold it.
