One of the leading energy firms in the country, Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), will carry out a comprehensive system upgrade for a better customer experience.
This exercise, according to a statement from the organisation, will happen next weekend from 6 pm on Friday, October 18 to 6 am on Monday, October 21, 2024.
EKEDC disclosed that during this period, consumers may not be able to purchase or load energy tokens for their prepaid meters, advising them to plan ahead for this scheduled downtime, stating that its customer care team will be fully operational throughout the upgrade period to assist with any inquiries and provide support.
The company said it is undergoing this system upgrade to adopt cutting-edge technologies, assuring that it will lead to “more seamless” services across its coverage areas, as it was determined to “set new standards in the Nigerian electricity sector.”
“We are committed to not just maintaining, but continually raising the bar for electricity distribution in Nigeria,” the acting chief executive of EKEDC, Mrs Rehkiat Momoh, said.
“This upgrade is one of many steps we are taking to ensure our customers receive the best possible service,” she said further.
