The Federal Ministry of Environment will hold talks on climate change on the sidelines of the 71st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) taking place in New York, USA.
The event is slated for Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 1:12pm – 2:45pm.
The programme, tagged ‘Taking Climate Action for Sustainable Development’, will hold at the Conference Room 3, UN headquarters, New York.
Chief Host of the conference is President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria, while the Special Guests are President Idriss Derby of Chad, who doubles as Chairman of African Union; President Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger Republic; President Paul Biya of Cameroun; and President Francois Hollande of France.
Mr Derby will speak at the function on ‘Restoring Lake Chad and Combating Desertification’, while Mr Hollande will talk on ‘Strategies for the Implementation of the Paris Agreement: Lesson for Nigeria.’
Climate change has remained one issue receiving attention across the globe.
