The residence of Mr Sunday Adeyemo, otherwise known as Sunday Igboho, in Ibadan, Oyo State, has been razed down by fire.
The inferno reportedly occurred in the early hours of Tuesday. The cause of the unfortunate incident is not yet known as at the time of filing this report.
Sunday Igboho recently became a news item because of the quit notice he gave to Fulanis living in the Ibarapa area of Oyo State to leave the area in seven days.
The eviction notice expired last week and a day after the house of the Seriki of Fulanis in Igangan of Ibarapa, Mr Saliu Abdulkadir, was burnt down allegedly by some youths.
Over the weekend, the Oyo State Governor, Mr Seyi Makinde, asked the new Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mrs Ngozi Onadeko, to arrest those causing trouble in the state.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Abubakar Adamu, also directed the arrest of Sunday Igboho because of his action in Ibarapa.
This morning, one of the houses of Sunday Igboho in Soka, close to the Tollgate in Ibadan, was burnt down.
In the inferno, several properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed. According to reports, the fire occurred shortly after electricity supply to the community was cut off.
