Eighteen lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Imo State House of Assembly have left the parties to another.
The defecting state lawmakers, including the Speaker, Mr Acho Ihim, joined the Action Alliance (AA) on Thursday.
At an emergency sitting at the Hallow chambers of the State House of Assembly today, Speaker of the House announced the defections without stating the particular reason for the development.
Before now, Governor of the state, Mr Rochas Okorocha has been at loggerheads with the National Chairman of APC, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, for refusing to allow his (Okorocha)’s son in-law, Mr Uche Nwosu, to succeed him as Governor of Imo State.
