N50m up for Grabs in 2024 Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers FUZE Talent Show
By Modupe Gbadeyanka
The 2024 edition of the Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers FUZE Talent show has been launched and about N50 million is up for for grabs, according to the organisers.
The chief executive of Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, Mr Olumide Oyetan, at the unveiling of the programme, FUZE 3.0, themed Light it up, said the FUZE initiative was birthed to address the gap created by young people not being captured within the pension scheme.
He stated that the company, through its extensive work in the space, has realized that young people seldom adopt pension savings early; and when they do, it is too late for them to save enough for the future. Hence, there is a need to attract them through their interests.
“Each season, we’ve witnessed this platform’s ability to uncover, foster, and propel young talents into the spotlight; giving rise to new stars who now shine across the realms of music, dance, fashion, and technology- both in Nigeria and globally,” he stated.
“We aim to make Nigerian youths the best version of themselves. That is why we do this and are committed to it. To ensure equal opportunity for everyone, every aspect of the competition must go through a transparent process. This has been consistent every year, and it keeps improving,” Mr Oyetan added.
The lineup of judges includes prominent figures from various industries: Olufunke Adepoju, celebrated for her contributions to fashion; Akinwande Akinsulire, a renowned name in the tech industry; Akorede Bello, a respected authority in the music industry; and Nonso Asobe, also known as DonFlexx – a distinguished figure in the dance community.
This diverse and expertly curated panel demonstrates the competition’s commitment to excellence across various creative disciplines, promising an enriching experience for all involved.
The judges will also provide insightful feedback and valuable guidance while evaluating the participants, enhancing their journey through FUZE 3.0.
Also speaking at the launch, the Head of Business Development of Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, Mr Kenneth Omeogu, said the N50 million cash prize was an improvement aimed to enhance participants’ experiences and operational efficiency.
He stated that another improvement for this year’s programme is the registration platform, which was significantly improved to make the registration process more user-friendly and accessible, encouraging more registrations.
He noted a remarkable increase in participants from locations outside Lagos, indicating growing interest and broader reach of the competition across the country.
Another critical change is the relocation of the boot camp. This strategic move provides the contestants with a better environment to enhance their creative process and overall experience during the competition, such as mentorship, networking, bonding, collaboration, and so on.
On her part, the Executive Director of Business Development at Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, Ms Nike Bajomo, explained that nurturing talent would create a ripple effect to foster personal and professional growth, a vibrant community, and contribute to the nation’s economic development.

Dangote Unveils Phone Number to Report MRS Stations Selling PMS Above N739
By Modupe Gbadeyanka
A hotline number, 0800 123 5264, for Nigerians to report any MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations selling Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, above the approved pump price of N739 per litre, has been released by Dangote Petroleum Refinery.
The private refiner said the number was now active nationwide, enabling consumers to promptly report violations and help maintain fair pricing across over 2,000 MRS stations.
This measure follows the refinery’s recent commencement of nationwide PMS sales at N739 per litre—a strategic intervention aimed at stabilising fuel prices and easing the financial burden on Nigerians during the festive season.
“We encourage Nigerians to avoid purchasing PMS at inflated prices when locally refined fuel is available at N739 per litre.
“Report any MRS station selling above this price by calling our hotline. Together, we can ensure that the benefits of this price reduction reach every consumer,” the company stated in a statement.
The organisation stressed its mission to deliver affordable, high-quality fuel while safeguarding national economic interests, reaffirming its commitment to steady supply, backed by a guaranteed daily output of 50 million litres, and warned against attempts to create artificial scarcity or manipulate supply.
Regulatory authorities have been urged to remain vigilant and take decisive action against unpatriotic practices.
By refining locally at scale, Dangote Refinery is reducing Nigeria’s dependence on imports, conserving foreign exchange, stabilising the Naira, and strengthening energy security. This initiative represents a significant milestone in the country’s journey toward sustainable energy solutions and economic recovery.
The refinery also issued a stern warning against attempts by unscrupulous operators to create artificial scarcity in response to the price reduction, calling on government agencies to act decisively.
“Any attempt to create artificial scarcity or manipulate supply to frustrate recent price reductions is unpatriotic and unacceptable. We urge regulatory authorities to remain vigilant and take firm action against such practices, especially during this critical festive period,” the statement added.
Consumers were advised to resist purchasing fuel at inflated prices when cheaper, high-quality alternatives are readily available.
