One of the top telecommunications companies in Nigeria, MTN, has been invited for questioning by the National Assembly.
The lawmakers want the South African firm to explain its role in the alleged repatriation of $14 billion out of Nigeria from 2006 to 2016.
Last month, a member of the Senate, Mr Dino Melaye, alleged that MTN illegally transferred the said amount out of the country with the help of Minister of Trade and Investment, Mr Okechukwu Enelamah, and four commercial banks.
The banks named in the alleged illegal act were Citi Bank, Diamond Bank, Standard Bank and Stanbic IBTC.
A statement from the Senate disclosed that hearing on the matter will hold on Thursday, October 20, 2016.
Mr Enelamah and the four banks were also told to be at the hearing to explain what they know about the alleged transfer.
