The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has felicitated with the new Oba of Benin, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Oba Ewuare N’ Ogieva, on his coronation yesterday in the ancient town of Benin City, Edo State.
The Nigeria’s main opposition party, in a statement signed by its spokesman, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, noted that it believes the new monarch would bring to bear his vast experience in public administration and international relations in the further development of Benin Kingdom.
The coronation on Thursday, October 20, 2016, according to the chronology of ascension to the throne, makes the new king the 40th Oba of Benin Kingdom, succeeding his father, Oba Erediauwa, who passed on in April, 2016.
The PDP also congratulated Oba Ewuare II on his 63rd Birthday which coincided with his coronation and wished “him long life on the throne and all the best in life as he pilots the affairs of his Kingdom, Benin.”
