One of the leaders of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mr Simon Ekpa, has reportedly been apprehended by police in Finland.
He was arrested at his residence in Lahti by Finnish police officers.
Mr Ekpa has been accused of inciting violence in Nigeria, especially in the South Eastern part of the country.
He is believed to be behind the sit-at-home order enforced in the region every Monday. He was accused of ordering people of Igbo extraction in the South East to stay away from the presidential election taking place this Saturday.
At the time of filing this report, the Finnish government was yet to make an official statement on the reported arrest of the Nigerian.
However, there is an image showing a man believed to be Mr Ekpa being escorted by police in Finland. He made be charged with terrorism because his actions have led to the death of several persons in Nigeria, including security officials.
Those who carry out his directive have killed many personnel of the Nigerian military, and the Nigeria Police, with their facilities burnt. Also, offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have not been spared.
Mr Ekpa assumed the leadership of the Biafra separatist group after the Nigerian government incarcerated the leader of the group, Mr Nnamdi Kanu.
