The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has commiserated with President Muhammadu Buhari on the death of his Chief of Staff, Mr Abba Kyari.
Acting Director General of SEC, Ms Mary Uduk, in a message on Wednesday, described the deceased as a dedicated and loyal aide of the President.
She said the late Chief of Staff had an unwavering loyalty and commitment to the ideals of the present administration, expressing sadness that he had to depart at this crucial time in the history of the country.
“It was with profound grief and sadness that we received the news of the passing of Alhaji AbbaKyari. We pray his gentle soul finds peace with the Creator.
“He was a dedicated and loyal aide, who lived an exemplary life of service. He carried out his duties with utmost diligence till the end, he will be sorely missed by all Nigerians.
“This is indeed a period of profound grief, but we are consoled by the fact that he lived an exemplary life of dedication and love to both his duties and the country,” Ms Uduk stated.
The SEC chief said Mr Kyari’s demise is another reminder of the impact of COVID-19 on the entire world and urged Nigerians to continue to comply with all the directives issued by the federal government and relevant agencies during this challenging period.
Ms Uduk, therefore, prayed the Almighty Allah to grant the late Abba Kyari eternal rest and also grant the family and the President the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
