The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Mr Ifeanyi Ubah, has died in a hotel in London, England in the United Kingdom.
The lawmaker, who recently defected from the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was said to have died from cardiac arrest.
The oil magnate turned politician left the shores of Nigeria about two days ago to attend the graduation of his son in the UK died at 52.
The deceased contested the governorship election in Anambra State in 2014 under the Labour Party (LP) but lost to Mr Willie Obiano of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), which remains the ruling party in the state.
Recall that recently, Mr Ubah, a law graduate from Baze University, Abuja, donated about N71 million to the APC through his campaign council to strengthen the party in the state and the southeastern region of the country.
Until his death, the late federal lawmaker and owner of Capital Oil was the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream.
