The suspended National Coordinator and chief executive of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), Mrs Halima Shehu, is answering some questions about the allegations of fraud levelled against her.
Mrs Shehu was asked to leave her office on Tuesday by President Bola Tinubu, with Mr Akindele Egbuwalo appointed to take charge of the organisation in the interim pending the conclusion of a comprehensive investigation instituted by the President to look into the accusations against the embattled coordinator.
It was gathered that the suspended CEO was picked up shortly after her removal by Mr Tinubu by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) last night.
The anti-graft agency, according to The Nation, is grilling Mrs Shehu over the suspicious movement of about N17 billion from the NSIPA account to some other accounts within one week.
It was alleged that she approved the payment of billions of naira by the agency without presidential approval.
