A member of the House of Representatives from Abia State, Mr Alex Ikwechegh, has been captured in a video assaulting a yet-to-be-identified ride-hailing driver.
In the video making the round on social media, the 44-year-old federal lawmaker slapped the driver for telling him to come over to his car for an item he ordered.
It was learned that Mr Ikwechegh ordered something from a vendor, who gave it to the driver for delivery.
On reaching the lawmaker’s house, the driver, while in his car, asked him to come for his order, which infuriated Mr Ikwechegh, who said it was an insult for the driver to tell him such, asking “do you know who I am?
He then called the vendor on phone, calling him some unpalatable names, vowing not to pay the driver for the insult on his personality as a lawmaker of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“I can make you disappear in the whole of Nigeria and nothing will happen. Do you know who I am?
“I can lock you up in my generator House and nothing will happen.
“Video me very well, you can call the Inspector General of Police (IGP Kayode Egbetokun),” the politician, who was elected under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), said in the video.
