An early morning inferno on Sunday brought down a section of Nigerian Breweries factory in Iganmu, Lagos, though no life was lost during the incident.
It was gathered that the fire affected the bottle section of the famous beer company.
The unfortunate incident occurred in the wee hours of Sunday, December 25, 2016, and it damaged bottling section of the factory.
According to spokesman of Nigerian Breweries, Mr Kufre Ekanem, the inferno only affected “the empty bottle compound of the Lagos plant” of the factory.
“There were no injuries or fatalities arising from the fire. Only empty bottles, plastic crates and some sections of the bottle holding bay were impacted by the fire. Brewery operations were not disrupted by the incidence,” Mr Ekanem said in a statement issued on Sunday.
It was learnt that when the incident occurred, officials of the Lagos State Fire Service, supported by the Brewery fire team and other nearby corporate organisations, rushed in to put the fire under control.
