Leader of the House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, in continuation of his medical outreach to the people of Surulere 1 federal constituency, has donated two fully equipped medical ambulances to Gbaja Maternal and Child Care Unit of Randle General Hospital in Surulere local Government and Coker Aguda Primary Healthcare Center in Surulere 2 federal constituency.
Mr Gbajabiamila, in company of the Sole Administrators of Surulere Local Government and Coker Aguda Local Council Development Authority, Mr Sherif Balogun and Mr Tope Yusuf respectively, were received by the Chief Medical Director of Randle General Hospital, Dr Olakunle Oni and Medical Director of Coker – Aguda Primary Healthcare Centre, Dr Kayode Odufuwa.
The House Leader, who donated gift items to baby of the year delivered in the maternity centre earlier on January 1, 2017, said his return to the hospital two days later is borne out of care for the health of his people.
“Bringing life forth with health is important and we must do so, with all the facilities that may be necessary in case there is emergency where there is a pregnant woman that want to deliver and any other emergencies,” he said.
Mr Gbajabiamila in his speech briefed the gathering on his extension of goodwill to people of his sister constituency, Surulere 2 federal constituency.
“Another ambulance delivered to same department in Coker Aguda because their sole administrator has been disturbing that he will like to see some of our ambulances in our sister constituency, Surulere 2 to help people of Coker Aguda.
“He did not know that his request will materialize in just two to three weeks. I pray that we need ambulances for delivery of children and less for injuries and death.”
The Chief Medical Director, Dr Olakunle Oni expressed appreciation to the House Leader for his care.
“I thank our able leader just January 1, 2017 he was here to provide gifts for the first baby and now he is giving to the hospital what else do we say about a leader with a caring heart. Let me remind you that just a year ago he gave an ambulance to main general hospital but we are like Oliver Twist we are asking for more,” he said.
