The next stage of the Nigerian Idol Season 7 will get tougher as 75 contestants will try to outwit one another to make it to the round of 25 before finally fighting for the top 10.
Over 4,000 budding music acts were auditioned for this year’s music talent discovery show since December 2021, with 75 of them getting the golden tickets to make it to the theatre week with their sonorous and melodious voices.
Contestants were selected in teams, with praises and encouragement from Yinka Davies, a popular vocalist, dancer, lyricist, and a guest judge, Dapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’Banj, and the creative industry entrepreneur, Obi Asika.
It would also be the end of the road for many that could not impress the judges for the top 10, in the show which will see the winner clinching N100 million worth of prize, including a recording deal from a label, a brand-new Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), cash prizes, and other exciting gifts.
But before then, they will have to scale the huddle of reaching the top 25 and then the top 10.
On Sunday, March 6, 2022, the battle will begin for a final spot for the live performance kicking off on March 20, 2022.
Viewers will be able to watch the show, which is sponsored by the award-winning Bigi carbonated soft drink from the stable of Rite Foods, on DStv Channel 197 and GOtv Channel 29.
