Nigerian Idol Contestants Dedicate Songs to Loved Ones

Nigerian Idol Contestants 2024

This past weekend on Nigerian Idol, the feels were all over the place. The theme was “Experience the Feels,” and they delivered. It was also Father’s Day and to make it special, the contestants received heartwarming video messages from their loved ones before taking the stage. Hearing the words of encouragement and seeing the immense pride radiating from their loved ones was heartwarming.

Adding to the excitement of the show, multi-talented producer and musician, Pheelz, joined the judges, setting the tone for the night with a special performance alongside the contestants.

As the show progresses, the contestants keep on bringing their A-game, making it difficult to see them go. But a winner must be crowned, and sadly, it was the end of the road for Lady Ruth as she amassed the least number of votes.

Staying true to the week’s theme, the contestants dedicated their songs to the special people in their lives. Chima stole the show with his emotional rendition of “Hello” by Lionel Richie, dedicating his performance to his mom. Maio dedicated a heartfelt performance of “Papa” by Johnny Drille to his dad and even went as far as dressing up just like him. Chioma took everyone to church with a powerful rendition of “Way Maker” by Sinach, dedicating it to her family and the fatherhood of God.

Mira Clear showed everyone that she could move mountains with her rendition of “Aint No Mountain High Enough” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. She dedicated it to her family. Steevie, as usual, brought good vibes with his rendition of “I Want It That Way” by Backstreet Boys; he dedicated his performance to his family, and Lammy gave a captivating performance of Michael Jackson’s classic hit “Speechless,” also dedicating it to all his family members.
