The lawmaker representing Lagos Central Senatorial District at the Nigerian National Assembly, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, will be among those expected to be present at the 2019 edition of Ebute-Metta Talent Hunt Show.
The contest was put together by Squard Media Group to discover raw talents in the area, who would then be groomed to become prominent names in the entertainment industry in Nigeria in the future.
The event will take place for two days, with the first day fixed for Friday, December 13, for a summit starting by 10am. The seminar is to educate secondary school students in the area.
Saturday, December 14, the grand finale of Ebute-Metta Talent Hunt 2019, will start by 2pm at the premises of Longford International School, located on 40-46, Kano Street, Ebute-Metta (East).
On this day, the former First Lady of Lagos State would be joined by the Executive Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government; Omolola Essien; member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Lagos Mainland, Ibrahim Ajani Owolabi; Dayo Israel; Princess Toyin Kolade; MC Oluomo; Yinka Quadri; Taiwo Hassan Ogogo; Funke Akindele; K1 De’Ultimate; Sule Alao Malaika, who is an Ebute-Metta bred musician; Abolore Akande, hip hop star popularly known as 9ice; Oritse Femi; Adex Labule of the defunct Artquake Group; rap sensation, Seriki Omo Owo; and other superstars.
Owner of Squard Media Group, Mr Quadri Olowolagba, stated that he came up with this competition to harvest raw and hidden talents in the community, which is normally seen as a ghetto.
According to him, there are many undiscovered entertainers living in Ebute-Metta yearning for the right platform to be known. He also said these persons are in search of finances and opportunities, which the show hopes to provide.
Mr Olowolagba promised that the overall winner would be given a six-month record label contract in addition to a monetary gift.
