Premier League club, Sunderland, have been relegated into the second tier of the English football league after a defeat at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
The David Moyes’ men were beaten 1-0 at home on Saturday afternoon after Josh King scored a late goal for Bournemouth 2 minutes from time.
For the past five to six season, the Black Cats had been having late escapes into relegation, but could not survive this time.
The club could only manage 21 points from 34 matches played so far this season.
A goalless draw by Hull City and Southampton today confirmed their relegation.
Next season, the club will play in the Championship and will fight to return into top flight football.
