Will “Barcelona” Take the European Football Throne Back?

barcelona champions league

This year, Madrid “Real” triumphed in the Champions League for this third time in a row. Achievements of “Barcelona” in La Liga seem more modest, so the next season of the Champions League will be an obvious priority for the Catalan management.

Now, the Catalans have everything for the good playing on the international arena. Lionel Messi is still in phenomenal shape and setting new records. His partners are keeping pace with him. Ter Stegen has achieved a significant progress and become one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Pique, Suarez, Rakitic, Umtiti – there’s a really long list of the names of the main team stars.

We can just guess how such a team could lose to more modest “Roma” in the Final 8 of the Champions League. Now, it’s more interesting and easier to follow the free livescore of the Catalans and other teams.

At present, «Barcelona» has an excellent squad. Its trumps are:

  1.      The combination of experience and youth. There are a lot of stars aged over 30, as well as promising young people who are able to replace the first soon.
  2.      Coach. Despite the fact that just few people believed in Ernesto Valverde, he has instilled a bright and attacking manner of playing in the club and got along with the team leaders.
  3.      Fans’ support. It’s almost impossible to counter “Barcelona” in Camp Nou. The stadium hosts almost 100 thousands of spectators supporting their favorite team.

Due to these factors, the club can achieve success on several fronts at the same time.

Key Goals for the Season

As mentioned above, the main team’s goal is to enter the Champions League successfully. Besides, this doesn’t mean that “Barcelona” will play in Primera or Copa del Rey in a slipshod manner. The team squad is very strong so it can be always shuffled to let all the players play.

In winter, the team was joined by Coutinho made its way to the Valverde’s team structure. The Brazil player has already taken an important role in the team but it’s obvious that the team still needs some transfers, especially after Iniesta’s leaving. The longstanding leader of the club went to Japan to finish his career there,

So, the future season will be very successful for “Barcelona” if the team distributes its roles at the entire tournament distance in a proper way and take advantage of their main rivals’ (“Real”, first of all) weak spots.
