Former Governor of Ogun State, Mr Ibikunle Amosun, has been appointed by the 9th Senate to head its committee on capital market.
This announcement was made on Tuesday on the floor of the Senate by its President, Mr Ahmed Lawan, when he read out names of chairmen of the Senate Committees.
Mr Amosun, a chartered accountant, was the Governor of the Gateway State for eight years from 2011 to 2019. He is presently at the National Assembly representing Ogun Central Senatorial District under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former Governor, who was born on 1958 and graduated from Ogun State Polytechnic (now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic) in 1983 with a Higher National Diploma (HND).
A year later, he began his career as an audit trainee with Lanre Aremu & Co. (Chartered Accountants) and thereafter he joined XtraEdge Consulting as a managing consultant.
From 1990 he was Principal partner of Ibikunle Amosun & Co. (Chartered Accountants) in Lagos before going to the University of Westminster in London, United Kingdom to acquire a Master of Arts in International Finance in 2000.
Two years before then, he became an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
Business Post reports that some of the other committee chairmen announced today were Adeola Olamilekan (Finance), Bassey Akpan (Petroleum Resources upstream), Mathew Urhoghide (Public Accounts), Sikiru Oshinowo (Industry), Adedayo Adeyeye (Media and Public Affairs), Barau Jibrin (Appropriations), Dino Melaye (Aviation), Ike Ekweremadu (Environment), Abubakar Kyari (FCT), Ibrahim Oloriegbe (Health), Kashim Shettima (Interior), Teslim Folarin (Local Content), Ali Ndume (Army), Uba Sani (Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions), amongst others.
