Monday’s trading at the NASD Securities Exchange ended on a positive note as the market capitalization appreciated on the first trading of the week by 0.32 percent or N1.65 billion to increase from N515.11 billion recorded on last Friday to N516.76 billion today.
Business Post reports that Iit wasn’t the only good news at the market today as the Net Sales Income (NSI) went up by the same 0.32 percent or 2.3 points to close at 719.28 points from 716.98 points.
However, the activity level was not impressive as it finished in red, with the total volume of transactions at the market on Monday going down by 22.24 percent to 58,414 units as against 75,120 units traded last Friday.
Also, the value of the trades significantly went down by N6.6 million on Monday to N2.8 million, indicating a 70.08 percent decline against N9.4 million recorded last Friday.
According to data from the NASD website, a total of 8 deals were executed by investors on Monday, showing a 60 percent rise from 5 executed at the last trading session.
On the price movement chart, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc ended the day as the market’s only price gainer as its stocks gained N0.33K or 2.45 percent to trade at N13.49 per share in contrast to N13.16 per share last Friday.
