The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange depreciated by 0.81 per cent on Tuesday, February 7 on the back of a decline in the share prices of FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc and Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc.

The value of NDEP Plc went down by N9.63 during the session to close at N190.37 per unit compared with the preceding day’s N200.00 per unit, as FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc lost N3 to trade at N65.00 per share versus Monday’s closing price of N68.00 per share.

As a result, the market capitalisation of the NASD OTC exchange depreciated yesterday by N7.61 billion to close at N932.79 billion, in contrast to the previous trading day’s N940.40 billion, and the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) went southwards by 5.79 points to finish at 709.88 points compared with the prior session’s 715.67 points.

Yesterday, the volume of stocks exchanged at the market slumped by 44.1 per cent as 30,068 units of stocks were picked up against the 53,772 units acquired in the previous session.

Also, the number of deals completed during the session went down by 11.4 per cent to eight deals from the nine deals executed on Monday, while the value of transactions went up by 68.3 per cent to N4.1 million from the N2.4 million achieved a day earlier.

At the close of business, Geo-Fluids Plc remained the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with the sale of 321.2 million units worth N317.2 million, UBN Property Plc stood in second place with 35.8 million units valued at N25.8 million, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc was in third place with 2.5 million units valued at N161.6 million.

Similarly, Geo-Fluids Plc maintained its position as the most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis, with 321.2 million units sold for N317.2 million, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc was in second place for trading 2.5 million units for N161.6 million, and VFD Group Plc was in third place with 561,810 units valued at N137.0 million.
