NASD OTC Market Ends Tuesday Session in Flat Territory

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange remained unchanged at the close of business on Tuesday, February 21, as there were single price gainers or losers.

Business Post reports that the key performance indicators of the NASD OTC market were flat yesterday, with the market capitalisation intact at N941.37 billion and the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) unchanged at 716.48 basis points.

However, the activity chart witnessed movements during the trading day, with the volume of transactions going down by 18.0 per cent to 30.0 million units of securities, in contrast to the 36.6 million units of securities transacted in the preceding session.

Similarly, the value of shares exchanged by the market participants went down by 19.8 per cent yesterday to N27.1 million from the N33.7 million recorded on Monday.

In the same vein, the total number of deals executed by investors at the bourse shrank by 55.6 per cent to four transactions from the nine trades completed a day earlier.

When the market closed for the session, Geo-Fluids Plc remained the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with a turnover of 334.8 million units valued at N332.0 million, UBN Property Plc stood in second place with the sale of 294.0 units worth N247.8 million, while VFD Group Plc was in third place with a turnover of 6.2 million units valued at N1.4 billion.

On the other hand, VFD Group Plc was the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with a turnover of 6.2 million units worth N1.4 billion, Geo-Fluids Plc was in second place with the sale of 334.8 million units valued at N332.0 million, while UBN Property Plc was in third place with a turnover of 294.0 million units valued at N247.8 million.
