The trio of Aradel Holdings Plc, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc, and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) squeezed 1.29 per cent from the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) on Monday.
The three price losers overpowered the two price gainers at the unlisted stock market yesterday, causing the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) to go down by 10.54 points to 809.02 basis points from the 819.56 basis points recorded last Friday.
Similarly, the profit-taking observed in the space weakened the market capitalisation of the exchange by N14.29 bullion at the close of transactions to N1.096 trillion from N1.111 trillion.
Aradel Plc lost N42.02 during the session to close at N557.98 per share compared with the last closing price of N600.00 per share, FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc shed N4.37 to end the day at N72.13 per unit versus N76.50 per unit, and CSCS Plc recorded an 18 Kobo loss to finish at N19.00 per unit, in contrast to the preceding day’s N19.18 per unit.
On the flip side, Food Concepts appreciated by 14 Kobo on Monday to trade at N1.58 per share versus N1.44 per share, and UBN Property Plc grew by 10 Kobo to N1.40 per unit from N1.30 per unit.
At the close of trades in the opening session of the week, investors bought and sold 1.8 million units of securities, in contrast to the 6.8 million units of securities transacted last Friday, indicating a decline of 74.2 per cent.
However, the value of shares exchanged by the market participants went up by 787.1 per cent to N183.5 million from the N20.7 million recorded in the previous session.
Also, the total number of deals carried out during the trading day improved by 75 per cent to 35 deals from the 20 deals executed in the preceding market day.
CSCS Plc remained the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 1.2 billion units sold for N22.2 billion, UBN Properties Plc was in second place with 951.4 million units valued at N948.9 million, and Geo-Fluids Plc stood in third place with 668.2 units worth N1.2 billion.
In the same vein, CSCS Plc was still the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) with 1.2 billion units valued at N22.2 billion, trailed by VFD Group with 26.6 million units worth N5.9 billion, and Aradel Holdings Plc with 6.5 million units valued at N2.4 billion.
