Commissioner for Housing in Lagos State, Prince Gbolahan Lawal, has assured Lagosians that more of the Rent-To-Own/Rental Homes promised by the state Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, at the inception of his administration would soon be ready for allocation and occupation by allotted owners.

Mr Lawal stated this recently while on working visits/inspections to some of the LagosHoms construction sites at Ajara Housing Estate, Badagry and Odo Onosa LagosHoms, Odo Ayandelu around Agbowa axis, as part of efforts to urge the contractors on the sites to hasten up the completion of the projects since Lagosians are eagerly awaiting their allocations.

At the palace of the Alaiyeluwa Oba Aderibigbe Asunmo, Jamade 1, the Alaiyeluwa of Odo-Ayandelu Kingdom, the Commissioner acknowledged the support of the Oba in making the construction of the estate possible and for providing needed security for plants, equipment and personnel of the firm in charge of the project.

He said with the continued support of the Oba, indigenes of the community are already benefitting through the provision of construction jobs and later when the owners occupy the apartments through the generation of socio-economic activities.

Earlier, Alaiyeluwa Oba Aderibigbe Asunmo, Jamade 1, in his welcome address applauded the State government for siting the estate in the community of Odo Onasa and Odo Ayandelu, stressing that the community is hoping for more of such projects within the axis.

Oba Asunmo further said that the indigenes of the communities are ready to provide the necessary services that would be required by the estate residents as this is an avenue to generate employment.

The Alaiyeluwa then requested that the State government should consider the revocation of the proposed police post that was to have been sited within the perimeter of the estate, as well as the naming of the estate as ‘Odo Onosa/Ayandelu Housing Estate’.

He also suggested that the street names within the estate should include names of past Obas of the host communities.
