Ikeja Electric Restores Power Supply After System Collapse
By Dipo Olowookere
Power supply has been restored by Ikeja Electric Plc to customers in its franchise area, Business Post has learned.
Earlier on Friday, electricity consumers under the electricity distribution company (DisCo) experienced an outage.
The company later informed its customers that the power cut was due to a “system outage,” noting that it was making efforts to restore supply.
“Please be informed that we experienced a system outage today, March 7, 2025, at about 2 pm, affecting supply within our network.
“Restoration of supply is ongoing in collaboration with our critical stakeholders,” the notice from Ikeja Electric, signed by its management, said.
The power outage came a day after some armed military personnel from the Sam Ethnan Air Force Base, Ikeja, Lagos, attacked officials of the company over disconnection of power supply to the Nigerian Air Force premises over unpaid bills.
The chief executive of the energy firm, Mrs Folake Soetan, was allegedly picked up and locked up in a truck, with other employees assaulted.
