PricePally Advocates Increased Investment, Partnership in Agriculture

Top online grocery store in Nigeria, PricePally, has called for increased investment in the Nigerian agriculture sector, seeing it as a viable path to tackling food security in the country.
This was part of the core conversations at the PricePally Impact Summit 2025, where stakeholders dialogued on the country’s agriculture ecosystem and explored opportunities for farmers.
The event, which was held in May, themed From Farm to Table: The Future of Fresh Foods – Sustainable, Affordable, and Accessible, gathered policymakers, agritech leaders, farmers, food distributors, and other stakeholders in Lagos, Nigeria.
Speaking at the event, the CEO of PricePally, Mr Luther Lawoyin, remarked that Nigeria has wide market access gap in its food value chain and that farmers filling this gap are unable to effectively do this due to a plethora of challenges including economic policies, insecurity, and dwindling climatic conditions.
According to him, these have continued to drive food prices higher, leaving Nigerian farmers and consumers frustrated.
He then called on investors, government, and other stakeholders to see this as an opportunity rather than a challenge.
“This is not intentional, we need to act with data, with intention, and with national will,” he said, adding that if this is done, it will help tackle the problem of high food costs.
Drawing a parallel with PricePally, the PricePally CEO said, the company ensures that farmers get the best value for their produce and deliver it directly to consumers’ doorsteps.
As a platform, PricePally enables consumers to group buy or share bulk farm-fresh food items sourced directly from farmers, wholesalers and brands, making it cheaper and fresher than buying at retail in open markets.
During the summit, participants gathered insights from brilliant speakers including Ms Abisola Olusanya, Commissioner for Agriculture, Lagos State; Mr Akin Alabi, Founder of Corporate Farmers International; Mr Michael Ogundare, Founder & CEO of Crop2Cash; Mr Michael Akinsete, Founder & CEO of Ecotutu; Ms Vera Ebhohon, Head of Agribusiness Development and Strategy at Sterling Bank, Mr Jerry Oche, Founder & CEO of Zowasel; Ms Maureen Unogu, Partnership Manager at CoAmana; and Ms Tracy Dabul, Head of Marketing & Partnerships at Leky Mills, and more.
On her part, the Lagos Commissioner for Agriculture, said the state is spearheading a transformative initiative to bolster food production and ensure long-term sustainability.
She noted that with efforts like those of PricePally, it shows that there is a huge possibility for many in agriculture, partnership and facilitating profitable relationships to enhance the sector’s performance.
