Salako Takes Over Lilypond Export Command as Ariyibi Quits Customs

The Lilypond Export Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has a new leader, and he is Mr Olusola Salako, a Deputy Comptroller of Customs.

He is taking over from Comptroller Samuel Ariyibi, who retired from the service.

The command’s spokesperson, Ms Bukola Olusola-Oke, an Assistant Superintendent of Customs I, in a statement, said Mr Salako is now the Acting Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the command, located in Lagos State.

Mr Salako commended his predecessor for his dedicated and meritorious service to the agency and his contributions to the growth and development of the command.

He pledged to provide purposeful, responsive and professional leadership, with emphasis on trade facilitation, regulatory compliance, anti-smuggling operations and effective stakeholder engagement.

The Acting CAC also appealed to stakeholders to sustain their support and cooperation towards strengthening the Command’s operational effectiveness and contribution to national economic development.

In his remarks, the retired customs officer expressed appreciation for the support he received while in service, attributing the achievements recorded by the command to teamwork, professionalism, discipline, dedication and effective collaboration among officers and stakeholders.

Mr Ariyibi urged officers and men of the command to extend the same spirit of cooperation and commitment to his successor, while sustaining the operational standards and gains recorded during his tenure.
