In order to bring its range of quality and affordable meals closer to Plateau State, especially in Jos, the state capital, Food Concepts Plc, Nigeria’s leading quick-service restaurant company, has opened Chicken Republic and PieXpress outlets in the city.

While Chicken Republic brings its range of quality and affordable meals, including its signature Smokey Jollof, Chickwhizz, sides and other customer favourites, PieXpress offers a selection of freshly baked pies and other quick meal options.

The new outlets, located on Old Airport Road, Jos, commenced operations on August 29, 2026, with representatives of Food Concepts, Plateau State Government, invited guests and members of the Jos community in attendance.

The Managing Director of Food Concepts, Mr Kofi Abunu, described the launch of the outlets as a reflection of Chicken Republic’s commitment to expanding its reach and becoming part of the communities it serves.

“The opening of our first outlet in Jos marks an important milestone in our continued expansion across Nigeria. We are excited to bring our quality and affordable meals to the people of Plateau State.

“Jos is a vibrant and growing city, and we are pleased to become part of its community while creating greater access to the meals our customers know and love.

“We look forward to building a strong and lasting relationship with the people of Jos and serving the community for many years to come,” Mr Abunu, represented by the Marketing Director of Food Concepts, Mr Olumide Aniyikaiye, stated at the event.

In his remarks, the  Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Plateau State, Mr Musa Ibrahim Ashoms, expressed optimism that the arrival of Chicken Republic and Pie Xpress would contribute to the state’s business and tourism landscape.

“We welcome Chicken Republic and PieXpress to Jos. This establishment will add to the tourism potential and business growth of the state while giving our people another opportunity to experience quality and delicious meals. We also urge the company to consider opening more outlets across the city and the state,” he said.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr Prince Miaphen, said, “I welcome Chicken Republic and PieXpress officially to Plateau State and urge our youths to patronise the brands. Beyond the food and its affordability, the opening creates opportunities for job creation and skills training, allowing young people to gain relevant experience in the hospitality industry.”

On her part, the Regional Manager for Abuja and North at Food Concept, Ms Susan Foyeke Oke-Job, said, “Our expansion into Jos is a strategic step driven by our commitment to delivering high-quality meals, affordable prices, warm smiles and excellent service. The new outlets have created jobs for more than 30 young people and opened up business opportunities for local suppliers. We are not just opening restaurants; we are investing in the community.”
