Key Takeaways From 22nd Alpha Morgan Economic Review
It was another day for the 22nd edition of the bi-monthly Alpha Morgan Economic Review, held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
With Nigeria’s interest-rate landscape taking a significant turn from the last Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, Alpha Morgan Bank brought together industry leaders and investors for the programme to examine what the latest policy shift means for the economy, markets and investment decisions.
The Zoom session featured economic analyst, Bismarck Rewane, who discussed the Central Bank of Nigeria’s 350-basis-point reduction in the Monetary Policy Rate from 26.5 per cent to 23 per cent, and its implications for savers, borrowers, businesses and investors.
The discussion covered the outlook for inflation, the naira and investment markets, interest rates, exchange rate stability, declining fixed income yields and growing interest in equities and IPOs, including the Dangote Petroleum Refinery public offer.
The Alpha Morgan Economic Review reflects Alpha Morgan’s commitment to fostering informed conversations on developments shaping Nigeria’s economy and financial markets.
While the economic landscape continues to evolve, the economic conversation continues in November 2026.
The next edition will take place on November 25, 2026.
