Fake Agency: Court Remands Adeyemi, Sets October 12 for Bail Hearing

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has remanded Mr Adeniyi Adeyemi to the Kuje Correctional Centre and ordered an accelerated hearing of his case.

Justice Muhammed Umar adjourned the matter until October 12 for the hearing of Mr Adeyemi’s bail application.

The accelerated trial is expected to allow the case to proceed without unnecessary delays.

The suspect is facing an eight-count charge bordering on alleged forgery. He is also accused of forging presidential letterhead paper on March 8, 2024.

The charge further alleges that Mr Adeyemi forged a request for collaboration with the Ministry of the Area Council and requests for land allocation and office space across the 36 states of the Federation, purportedly issued from the State House, Abuja.

He pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

The accused is alleged to be the Director-General of the phantom Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), in a case that also pointed fingers at the Chief of Staff, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, claiming he demanded financial payments linked to his purported appointment.

He claimed that N400 million was paid through intermediaries, with an additional N200 million allegedly requested—claims that have not been substantiated.

Mr Adeyemi also argued that references to both the PFIPC and the Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PAEC) appeared in the 2026 Appropriation Act, questioning the government’s position that the organisations never officially existed.
