NASD OTC Index Declines by 33.41 Points

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange extended its losses by 0.76 per cent on Friday, October 9, with the market capitalisation losing N20.06 billion to close at N2.613 trillion compared with the previous day’s N2.633 trillion, and the NASD Security Index (NSI) down by 33.41 points to 4,355.00 points from 4,388.41 points.

The market did not record any price movement, as the share prices of securities on the platform remained unchanged.

However, the volume of securities executed in the final session of the week increased by 28.9 per cent to 407,226 units from 315,883 units, and the value of securities transacted rose by 46.6 per cent to N29.5 million from N20.1 million, while the number of deals executed dipped by 42.9 per cent to 20 deals from 35 deals.

Great Nigeria Insurance (GNI) Plc remained the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis, with 3.4 billion units sold for N8.4 billion, followed by Infrastructure Credit Guarantee (Infracredit) Plc with 2.3 billion units valued at N6.5 billion, and CSCS Plc with 81.9 million units exchanged for N6.0 billion.

GNI Plc also closed the day as the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis, with 3.4 billion units worth N8.4 billion, followed by Infracredit Plc with 2.3 billion units transacted for N6.5 billion, and Resourcery Plc with 1.1 billion units traded for N415.7 million.
