The Ekiti State government has proposed to spend about N490.7 billion in the 2027 fiscal year.
On Thursday, the state governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, presented the budget proposal to the Ekiti State House of Assembly.
He christened the appropriation bill as the 2027 Budget of Sustained Progress and Prosperity, saying that it reflects the administration’s commitment to building on achievements and advancing Ekiti State’s long-term development goals.
According to him, the proposal stands on six pillars: governance, education and healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, youth development, good governance, and arts and tourism.
He informed the state’s legislative arm of government that the almost half a trillion Naira budget was designed to sustain progress and shape Ekiti State’s next phase of development, adding that it is also to consolidate the gains of the Shared Prosperity Agenda while laying a stronger foundation for the years ahead.
While commending the Ekiti Assembly for the immense support it has given his administration in the past years, he called for speedy passage of the bill for the benefit of residents of the state.
