Reports reaching us from the National Assembly in Abuja indicate that some persons suspected to be hoodlums have invaded the Senate, running away with the mace.
The incident has left the upper chamber of the nation’s parliament in disarray as lawmakers were reportedly seen running helter-skelter.
It was gathered that the suspected thugs were numbering about 15 and gained access into the Senate with the help of a lawmaker.
Soon after they entered the upper parliament, they went straight for the mace and rushed out into a waiting Sport Utility Vehicle and zoomed off.
