Ondo State Governor, Mr Olusegun Mimiko, has approved the International Cultural and Event Centre fondly called The Dome for use by the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday, September 3, 2016.
The APC in Ondo State, which is the main opposition party in the state, plans to hold its primary this Saturday to elect its flag-bearer for the governorship election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is expected to conduct the gubernatorial election in Ondo State on November 26, 2016.
Business Post gathered that Mr Mimiko released The Dome, which his administration built, to the opposition party to use for its primary slated for Saturday.
However, some residents of the state have described Mr Mimiko’s move as laudable. They said it shows the level of maturity of the Governor, saying the act has shown he is not a bitter politician.
They further claimed that it was this same magnificent structure the APC in Ondo State once rubbished; alleging Mr Mimiko of squandering the state’s wealth on building “the doomed dome”
It would be recalled that in July 2016, the Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, prevented the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to use the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium for its campaign.
