Former Super Eagles star, Mr Victor Ikpeba, has refuted reports that ex-Eagles defender, Pastor Taribo West, was dead.
It was reported online Friday that Mr Taribo, who is the General Overseer of Shelter in The Storm Miracle Ministries of All Nations, died on Tuesday morning in South Africa.
According to the report, the former AC Milan man was flown to South Africa for an undisclosed illness.
But his former teammate, Mr Ikpeba, has rubbished the report, saying that Mr Taribo is hale and hearty.
“My brother Taribo West is alive. Please ignore rumours that he is dead,” Mr Ikpeba said on Twitter on Friday.
Also, a top sport journalist, Mr Kayode Tijani, negated the death rumour, expressing worry that “Why someone will just tweet that TARIBO WEST is dead without being 100 per cent sure baffles me, really tragic. LLAP Pastor. It’s really sad.”
“WARNING: Ignore rumours of the death of Taribo West. I have spoken to him. He is alive, hale and hearty,” another veteran sport journalist, Mr Colin Udoh, posted on Twitter.
