Value of Unlisted Securities Market Rises to N524.08bn

The total value of the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange stood at N524.08 billion at the close of transactions on Friday, August 14, 2020.

This followed the marginal 0.01 per cent or N40 million increase in the market capitalisation when activities were wrapped up. At the preceding session, the size of the market was N542.04 billion.

Also, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) gained 0.01 per cent or 0.07 points on Friday to finish at 713.46 points compared to 713.39 points it ended on Thursday.

However, during the trading day, there a drop in the number of deals executed by investors at the market, 66.7 per cent or four deals as only two deals were executed yesterday compared with the six deals recorded a day earlier.

The deals executed were on stocks belonging to FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc, the day’s only price gainer. The share price of the FMCG company increased by 7 kobo to close at N127.07 per share as against N127 per share of Thursday.

Also, there was a drop in the total volume of securities traded on Friday by 98 per cent as a total of 10,500 units were traded compared with the previous trading volume of 514,675 units.

These transactions were worth N1.33 million, 92.8 per cent lower than the N18.6 million worth of shares transacted at the previous session.

ARM Life Plc closed the session as the most active stock by volume (year-to-date) with 7.4 billion units of its shares worth N4.6 billion, while Central Securities Clearing Systems (CSCS) Plc was in second place with 200.4 million units worth N2.7 billion, with Food Concept Plc in the third position after trading 125.1 million units of its shares worth N88.1 million.

Also,  the most active stock by value (year-to-date) was still ARM Life Plc, which has traded 7.4 billion units of its shares worth N4.6 billion. CSCS Plc was next after exchanging 200.4 million units for N2.7 billion, while Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc has traded 8.7 million units of its securities valued at N2.7 billion.
