The Managing Director of Calyx Securities Limited, Mr Abdulfatai Olawale Onigbode, fondly called Wale Onigbode, has died after a brief illness, Business Post has learned.
The respected stockbroker in the Nigerian capital market was said to have passed on last Thursday. He was aged 52 before his demise. He was said to have been receiving medical attention when he breathed his last.
The late Mr Onigbode was a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Faith City Parish, at the River Valley Estate, Berger Ojodu, Lagos.
The deceased, a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), graduated from the Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University), Ago-Iwoye, in 1993 with a degree in Economics.
Two years after graduation, he joined Calyx Securities Limited and was actively involved in securities analysis and trading, marketing of primary issues, advising investors and managing clients’ portfolio until he rose to become the CEO.
He participated in various courses, seminars and workshops both locally and abroad and also contributed immensely to the development of the Nigerian capital market in various capacities.
His death has continued to come as a rude shock to his friends, associates, clients and the stockbroking community, who loved him for his sincerity and contribution to the ecosystem.
