Family of Deceased LASTMA Officer Gets N10m

The sum of N10 million has been given to the family of the deceased Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officer, Mrs Remilekun Arogundade, who lost her life while on official duties on the May 26, 2019. The money was presented to the beneficiary by the Lagos State government.

Speaking during the presentation of the cheque at the Conference Room, Ministry Of Transportation, Alausa, Ikeja, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Mr Oluwatoyin Fayinka described the late officer as diligent, obedient and resourceful, reiterating that the money was not offered in place of the life but in support of the lives affected by the irreparable loss.

He emphasised that the money paid is also to encourage diligence among officers of the State who are determined to serve wholeheartedly, adding that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had earlier visited the family of the slain officer at her residence.

Permanent Secretary of Transportation, Mr Olawale Musa, urged the family members to apportion the money as directed and ensure that the upkeep of the children of the deceased is maintained.

Responding on behalf of other members of the family, the husband of the deceased, Mr Babatunde Jide Oyebode appreciated the good gesture extended to their family by the State government.
