On Thursday, April 30, 2020, shareholders of Access Bank Plc will receive a dividend of 40 kobo for every unit of the company’s stocks in their portfolio.

This is the decision of the board of directors. The board also said the payment would only be made to those whose names appear on the register of member as at the close of business on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.

The lender, which released its earnings for the year ended December 31, 2019 to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday, stated that the dividend payment is subject to deduction of the appropriate withholding tax and approval of shareholders.

Business Post reports that in mid-2019, Access Bank paid an interim dividend of 25 kobo per share to its shareholders. With the 40 kobo final dividend announced today, the total dividend for the 2019 financial year is 65 kobo.

In a disclosure to the NSE today, Access Bank said it would close its register of shareholders on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, while the payment would be made electronically to qualified shareholders, especially those who have completed the e-dividend registration and mandated the registrar to pay their dividends directly into their bank accounts.

“Shareholders who are yet to complete the e-dividend registration are advised to download the registrar’s E-Dividend Mandate Activation Form, which is also available on our website: https://www.accessbankplc.com/Pages/Investor-Relations/Shareholders-Services/Shareholders-Data-Update.aspx or the registrars’ website: https://www.unitedsecuritieslimited.com/uploads/files/ShareholdersDataUpdate.pdf complete and submit to either the registrar, their respective banks or any Access Bank branch.

“Shareholders with dividend warrants and share certificate that have remained unclaimed, or are yet to be presented for payment or returned for validation are advised to complete the e-dividend registration or contact the registrar,” it said.

Meanwhile, Access Bank has announced date for its Annual General Meeting (AGM). In the notice on Friday, the financial institution said this shareholders’ gathering will take place at Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos on Thursday, April 30, 2020.
