Last week, the United States Mission in Nigeria organised the annual US College and Career Fairs at the Ecobank Pan African Centre (EPAC) on Victoria Island, Lagos.

The US Consul General, Mr Will Stevens, while speaking at the event, said that America remains a leading destination for international students, noting the United States offers students an unrivalled educational experience, flexibility, and diversity.

“We are happy to provide Nigerian students who wish to study in the United States a unique opportunity to learn about the diversity of the programs offered at various U.S. educational institutions,” Mr Stevens said.

The Managing Director of Ecobank Nigeria, Mr Bolaji Lawal, stated that he was impressed with partnering with the US agency to provide an avenue for students willing to further their education in the United States to interact with the college representatives. He was optimistic that the admission seekers would now have first-hand information that would inform their choices.

The fair attracted various schools from Lagos state, including interested members of the public, because it provides an opportunity for prospective international students to learn directly from admissions officers from US college representatives.

Participants learned about application requirements, funding opportunities and everything that American education has to offer.
