Ecobank’s Nnaeto Orazulike Gets National Honour for Contribution to Nigeria’s Growth

One of the members of the board of directors of Ecobank Nigeria, Mr Nnaeto Orazulike, has been rewarded for his selfless service to humanity and contributions to the growth of the country.

He was among the Nigerians and foreigners bestowed with national honours on Tuesday in Abuja by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Mr Orazulike sits on the board of the financial institution as a non-executive director. He is a seasoned businessman, corporate guru, philanthropist, and founder of Genesis Group, a proudly Nigerian conglomerate with interests in restaurants, cinemas, hotels, food production and oil and gas services and production.

He was conferred on Tuesday with a national honour in the rank of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) at the 2022 National Honours Award investiture ceremony.

At the award ceremony, Mr Buhari listed the criteria as consistent and meaningful participation in community and/or national development.

He also listed remarkable achievements in any field of expertise where the person’s activities in that field have made significant contributions to the attainment of national goals and objectives.

Mr Orazulike is a graduate of the University of Nigeria with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree and an alumnus of the Harvard Business School Executive Training Program.

He was awarded the prestigious Honorary Doctor of Science degree by the University of Port Harcourt in 2015. In 2021, he won the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) 60-anniversary awards for his exemplary role in the entertainment and hospitality sector. He has won many awards at the national and state levels.
