A notable figure in the Nigerian movie industry, Chioma Akpotha, has been selected as the new brand ambassador for Crown Premium Pasta.

Chioma has acted in several films and she is respected for her talent, which she uses to dazzle her fans. She is also an influencer because of her huge following on the different social media platforms.

This may have impressed the management of the leading Nigerian pasta brand, who did not waste any time to reach her for the job also because of her past similar jobs, including as a brand ambassador of Harpic.

Speaking at the signing ceremony recently, the multiple-award-winning movie star said, “I’m really excited to be representing the Crown Premium Pasta range of delicious pasta products which are non-sticky, delicious and healthy to consume.”

“Full of health and nutrition, Crown Premium Pasta products are made from durum wheat (which contains a high level of protein) and they also contain vitamins and micronutrients,” she added.

The actress further said, “Like all other amazing brands under Crown Flour Mill Ltd, Crown Premium Pasta is a healthy and great quality product made to delight every family. There’s truly nothing greater than getting to be a part of something one truly loves and uses personally.”

Explaining her reasons for working with the brand, Chioma Akpotha said, “Chioma Apkotha is a premium family brand. I share the same DNA with Crown Premium Pasta which is also a premium family brand. It’s a perfect fit. I also align with the company’s mission to provide top quality food products at accessible prices to Nigerian consumers.”

This was echoed by the Business Head (B2C) at Crown Flour Mill Limited, Mr Nitin Mehta, who expressed the excitement of his company to identify with Chioma Akpotha.

“She is an actress who brings an extraordinary level of commitment and discipline to light up every role she plays on the screen.

“She exemplifies the rich capacity available in the Nigerian entertainment industry and is a great brand fit for Crown Premium Pasta. I have no doubt that this would be a mutually rewarding relationship,” he said.

“We are committed to delivering on our promise of making nutritious and affordable pasta products accessible to all Nigerians. This relationship will help bring greater awareness of our mission,” Mr Mehta added.

Where Will the Next $1bn of Growth Investment in Nigeria Go?

By Victor Basta Nigeria’s success is Africa’s success. More recently, it has been nearly un-investable. $2.4bn of Nigerian start-up funding between January 2021 and the mid-last year has dried up; only two large rounds have happened since mid-2022 (TeamApt raising $50m and Yellow Card raising $40m). Economic uncertainty, rampant inflation, concerns about Nigeria’s managed exchange rate, and, more recently, political uncertainty have combined to force international growth capital to the sidelines, waiting for clarity
