Amid biting economic challenges, pay-TV provider, Multichoice Nigeria, has once again announced over a 16 per cent increase to several bouquets on its DStv platform in the country.
In an internal memo seen by Business Post on Tuesday, the company said, “At MultiChoice Nigeria, our mission is to deliver value to our customers by making great entertainment accessible. Our key priority is to put our customers’ needs at the heart of everything we do.
“Due to the various economic challenges impacting our business operations, we have had to review the price of our packages to continue delighting our customers with great entertainment, anytime and anywhere.”
The company noted that it had tried all it could to keep prices of the DStv packages at the same level since it last did a price upgrade in April 2022, but from next month, it will kickstart the new price regime.
“MultiChoice acknowledges the difficult economic climate and thus kept the increase at the lowest possible point whilst ensuring sustainability and provision of quality services.
“Therefore, from May 1, 2023, new prices will apply to the DStv packages,” the memo revealed.
The price of DStv Premium will go from N21,000 to N24,500, a N3,500 or 16.7 per cent increase. DStv Compact+ jumps from N14,250 to N16,600, an addition of N2,350 or 16.5 per cent, while DStv Compact goes from N9,000 to N10,500, a N1,500 or 16.7 per cent.
As for DStv Confam, which is currently at N5,300, it gets a N901 or 17 per cent increment to N6,200, while DStv Yanga gets a N550 boost from N2,950 to N3,500, an equivalent of 18.6 per cent, and DStv Padi goes from N2,150 to N2,500, a difference of N350 or 16.3 per cent.
