The creme-de-la-creme of shopping at malls was recently heightened at two superstores in Lagos, namely Ikeja City Mall and the Leisure Mall Surulere, where shoppers participated in Kerrygold Avantage Milk activation.
The in-store campaign was in conjunction with Dublin-based Bord Bia to showcase and engage fans on the exciting ways Irish dairy can be enjoyed in making milkshakes which were in recognition of World Milk Day to promote global awareness around the benefits of milk.
The activity featured the Blender Bike challenge where individuals demonstrated their fitness levels by riding a stationary bicycle that had a blender attached. The blender spun as the bike was ridden, allowing the participants to make their favourite milkshakes and smoothies.
The occasion also gave the opportunity for participants to demonstrate creative ways to make a milkshake with the Kerrygold Avantage Milk, after which all entries were reviewed by judges to announce 15 lucky winners who were rewarded with Kerrygold products, branded items and shopping vouchers.
The fascinating phase of the event was the invitation of celebrities such as Ufuoma Mcdermott, Adedimeji Lateef, Ify Mogekwu of Ify’s Kitchen, as well as a culinary expert and talk show host, Jamila Lawal, who created their own milkshakes with shoppers.
Commenting on the occasion, Bord Bia’s West Africa Manager, Mr Ese Okpomo, said, “Our aim with this campaign is to create new consumption patterns for milk with the consumer outside the regular creamer pattern that is currently predominate pattern irrespective of the consumption occasion.”
Bord Bia is an Irish state agency with the aim of promoting sales of Irish food and horticulture both abroad and in Ireland itself.
The agency works for small producers by promoting and certifying farmers’ markets, and for bigger producers by offering a great range of international marketing services.
