Access Bank Appoints Ogbonna as Group DMD

Mr Roosevelt Michael Ogbonna has been announced as the new Group Deputy Managing Director of

Access Bank Plc. This followed the recent resignation of Mr Obinna Nwosu to pursue other personal endeavours.

A statement issued by the top Nigerian lender on Wednesday disclosed that Mr Ogbonna is a consummate banking professional with over 1 9 years’ working experience cutting across Treasury, Commercial and Corporate Banking.

He has been the Group Executive Director in charge of Commercial Banking Division since October 2013. He joined Access Bank in 2002 from Guaranty Trust Bank Plc.

The new Group Deputy Managing Director is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and holds a Second Class Upper Degree in Banking and Finance from University of Nigeria (UNN), Nsukka.

He has attended Executive Management Development Programmes on diverse areas of banking and management in world leading institutions.

He is also a member of reputable professional organisations including Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts; Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and the Future Leaders Group of the Institute of International Finance.

Mr Ogbonna is a Non-Executive Director of Access Bank (Zambia) Limited and The Access Bank (UK) Limited.

Meanwhile, the appointment of Mr Ogbonna has been approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
