The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a 0.07 per cent appreciation on Thursday, April 4 after Afriland Properties Plc gained 80 Kobo to close at N9.60 per unit compared with the previous day’s N8.80 per unit.

As a result, the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) increased by 0.81 points to wrap the session at 1,112.81 points versus the 1,112.00 points recorded in the previous session, as the market capitalisation of the bourse went up by N1.1 billion to N1.508 trillion from N1.507 trillion.

At the alternative stock market yesterday, the value of securities traded by investors depreciated by 79.9 per cent to N18.3 million from the N91.3 million transacted in the preceding trading session.

Also, the volume of securities bought and sold by the market participants decreased by 90.1 per cent to 49,470 units from the 500,528 units recorded in the midweek session.

These transactions were executed in 15 deals compared with the 19 deals carried out a day earlier, representing a decline of 21.1 per cent, according to data obtained by Business Post from the NASD platform.

At the close of business, Aradel Holdings Plc was the most traded equity by value on a year-to-date basis with 3.4 million units valued at N6.9 billion, followed by Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc with 43.2 million units sold for N1.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 5.1 million units worth N381.4 million.

IPWA Plc ended the trading day as the most active equity by volume on a year-to-date basis with 79.9 million units valued at N40.0 million, trailed by Mixta Real Estate Plc with 69.9 million units worth N114.6 million, and Geo-Fluids Plc with 53.8 million units sold for N146.3 million.
